After spending five years at Northeastern Illinois State College earning a B.A. in Psychology and doing post graduate studies in Counseling Psychology, Dr. Frank Kollins attended Palmer College of Chiropractic. There he earned his B.S. in Human Biology and D.C. (chiropractic) degrees. Dr. Kollins graduated from Palmer College in 1974. Dr. Kollins has been practicing for over 35 years and has been at his current location for most of those years.
Dr. Kollins has kept up to date on the many changes in the chiropractic field through continuing education. In 2011 he completed the program to be a Certified Chiropractic Extremities Practitioner(CCEP). Through this program he has learned intensive procedures and protocols for diagnosing and conservatively treating hips, knees, elbows, and other extremity concerns. (See Beloit Daily News article.) He has been awarded a certificate of matriculation from National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL where he concentrated his studies in sports injury rehabilitation and neurology. In addition, he has received advanced training and has passed extensive examination protocols in Nutrition and Physical therapy. Dr. Kollins has been certified by the state of Wisconsin for the inclusion of both physical therapy and nutritional counseling in his practice.
Dr. Frank Kollins practices chiropractic with a passion to solve his patients' underlying cause(s). In addition to Activator (instrument) adjusting or gentle manual treatment, his individualized treatment plans may include suggestions for posture, assistance with work related issues, nutritional advice, food allergy protocols, short or long term diet regiments, corrective exercises, body balance techniques, or orthotic (foot) balance control. Physical therapy equipment is available in the office, if needed.
In addition to his chiropractic training, Dr. Frank Kollins has done post graduate studies in Developmental Disorder Diagnosis through the University of Wisconsin, and has studied energy Medicine, including Auyurvedic medicine and Reiki.
Dr. Frank Kollins is a local volunteer representative for the Foundation for Wellness Professionals. As a representative of this organization, Dr. Kollins provides educational workshops at no charge on health-related topics.
